James Nkoana has joined AFReC (Pty) Ltd as Project Manager: National and Provincial Government. Before joining AFReC, he held positions in the National Treasury as Financial Administration Officer, National Department of Education as Assistant Director: Financial Administration and he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Pretoria. His masters dissertation was on "The Planning System to Implement the Reconstruction and Development in South Africa". He attended both the summer and winter schools taxation programmes of the Southern African Tax Institute offered at the University of Pretoria. His interest is in Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations, Fiscal Decentralisation, Local Economic Development and Tax Policy and Administration. James believes that financial training across all spheres of government is the key to efficient delivery of government services to improve the quality of life for all South Africans.
