PROFILE SUMMARY

Asanda Ndlebe has recently joined AFReC as a Public Sector Analyst in the Training and Consulting Division. He has a Bcom (major in Economics & Industrial Psychology), and a MPA with School of Government from UWC. His dissertation was on “Future financial options for selected social grants in South Africa".

Before joining AFReC, he held positions in the National Department of Social Development as Assistant Director: Financial Planning and Modelling then promoted to the Deputy Director: Costing, Financial Forecasting and Modelling. He also worked as the researcher for Economic Policy Research Institute co-published various research papers (The Social and economic impact of South Africa’s social security system; rand volatility, its impact on export and trade; South Africa's investment incentives on export (research projects commissioned by the Department of Trade and Industry) while at the company. His research interests are public finance, intergovernmental fiscal relations, conditional cash transfers and financing social security (social security reform).
